Veliki Babanski Skedenj

Description of peak:
It is a peak on the southern side of the Kanin mountain range, one of the clusters separated from the main ridge by the extensive Kaninski Podi, visible as a bold wall from some parts of the valley, especially from Bovec, and barely visible from others, hidden from the higher peaks in the main ridge. The view extends from the nearby Plaška Planja Peak, Visoki Kanin, Prestreljenik, Rombon and other lesser-known peaks in the mountain range to Mangrt, Jalovec, the peaks in the Loška Stena, the Bavški Grintovec, the peaks above the Kriški Podi, Triglav, Kanjavac, Lepego Špičje and the Krn Mountains. In front of it is the ridge of Polovnik, below to the left is the Bovec Basin and to the right the Soca Valley towards Kobarid, to the right of it are the ridges of Stol, Monte Mataiur and Monte Guarda, and the horizon ends via Velika Baba at the saddle of Med Baban, over which in clear weather one can see all the way to Antelao, Pelmo and Marmolada in the Dolomites.
