Chapel Na Koren

Description of church:
The beautiful and recently restored chapel of Na Koren is located on the hillside of Hom, north below the village of Kupljenik, in the municipality of Bled.
According to folk tradition, the construction of the Church of St Stephen began in the 16th century on the Homec hill near Sel. However, it happened that everything that was built during the day was moved again and again at night across the Sava Bohinjka to Koren pod Kupljenikom. For this reason, the construction of the church was postponed, but because the place where the chapel stands was to secluded, the church was built higher up, next to the village houses on Kupljenik.
From the chapel Na Koren, next to which there is a bench, the visitor is offered a beautiful view of the Bled surroundings with the castle and the nearby hills, and of Karawanks in the background.
